You Did That on Purpose

Encouragement
0

Have you ever been the victim of someone sticking their foot out just to trip you up? They quickly said, “Oh, I’m sorry.” What was your response? “You’re not sorry. You did that on purpose!” They laughed, smirked, and denied it left and right but you knew in your heart of hearts that what they did was on purpose.

Well, I have a question for you. What are you doing on purpose? Success is not something that remains on auto pilot until you reach your destination. Goals are not just accomplished; and, dreams are not just going to come true. It takes doing things on purpose to see the results you are hoping for. Hey, I’m talking to myself, as well.

I have so many goals that I’m trusting and believing God to successfully bring to pass in my life. From time to time things happen and, if I’m not careful, it will sidetrack me into thinking this is way too hard. I will never reach my goals. Let me tell you something. We have to learn to recognize a lie when it pops into our mind. James 4:7 says, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. This, my friend, is intentional living, with a promise tagged onto the end.

When I submit to God, I’m choosing to align myself with His ways, His words, His purpose, and His thoughts. When I resist the devil, I’m resisting every way, every word, every purpose, and every thought that is contrary to God’s way. When you resist something, you are refusing to give in or give up to something. When you resist something, you are actively fighting against that thought, pull, or idea. Everyday we face situations where resistance is necessary. If you’ve constantly given in or given up to negativity or temptations, don’t live in regret and be discouraged. Meditate on the word of God (Joshua 1:8) and allow God’s words of life to penetrate your heart and mind, bringing about both change and victory. Decide today to “Do that on purpose!”. You are worth it.

Be blessed and don’t forget, God created you with a purpose in mind, but until you renew your mind, you will never walk in
your purpose.

Words are seeds, be it good or be it bad. Be strategic when you speak, for the seeds you sow are the fruit you’ll eat.
